Event Description:
Join us for a delicious lunch, catch up with old friends, and meet new friends. Hear from our guest speaker, Alexandra Porto, Executive Director of Fayette Cares. Learn how she strives to end homelessness, break the cycle of domestic violence, and create stability and self-sufficiency from crisis.
Alexandra's Bio: Alexandra Porto has served as Eecutive Director of Fayette Cares foro 21 years. Driven by her passion to empower families in crisis, she leads efforts including program development and evaluation, fundraising and development, marketing and public relations, grant writing and management, volunteer management, board development, charity retail efforts, and strategic planning.Alexandra was recognized for her commitment to service being twice named Fayette County Chamber of Commerce Person of the Year, is a two-time recipient of the John S. Wilder Citizen of the Year award, and has been Fayette County Business and Professional Women's Club, Woman of the Year. She aspires to build a more caring community and is a graduate of Leadership Fayette and UT Martin WestStar Leadership programs. She has been a member of Rotary Club of Somerville, Business and Professional Women’s Club, TN Victims of Crime State Coordinating Council, Family Resource Center Advisory Council, Friends of the Library, and the US Air Force. In addition to her love of service, she is an avid runner, enjoys traveling (having lived in South America and the Middle East), and is fluent in Spanish.
