Event Description:
Homeowners make good citizens. They are more likely to vote, volunteer, and help keep neighborhoods clean and safe. Their children do better in school and are less likely to get into trouble. In addition, homeownership creates generational wealth that helps break the cycle of poverty.

Yet, the demand for attainable housing in West Tennessee far exceeds the supply, and the opportunity cost of failing to meet the need is staggering!

Please join us as we explore ways to make the dream of homeownership a reality for all citizens. Discover how we can work together to build more houses and stronger communities across West Tennessee.


The Summit will begin with a housing forecasts by Edsel Charles, founder of MarketGraphics Research Group, a nationally recognized leader in new home and residential development research. Paul Lopez, SVP of Communications and Public Affairs for the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), will address the opportunity cost associated with failing to meet the demand for housing.  The Summit will conclude with local perspectives by panels of experts,  which will include:

  • John Duncan, Economic Development Director for the Town of Collierville

Jack Sammons will serve as the moderator of the panel.

West TN Home Builders Associatio Members will receive 2.0 hours of Continuing Education Credit toward Residential Continuing Education (RCE) license renewal requirements.
